Burnaby Mountain proved to be no challenge

Management at NCS Fluid Handling Systems want to congratulate Kamal Singh and Caillan Charpentier for putting together an extremely well-designed and engineered Sewer bypass system and they are backed by a top notch team of specialized technicians.

The City of Vancouver was extremely pleased with the overall performance of the entire NCS Fluid Handling Systems team and sewer bypass system. They were also extremely pleased with the complete turn over package which included all operation summaries, daily safety documents and quality turn over package for their city records.

Overall a great job and the project came in with no safety issues, under budget and beat the scheduled days of main line downtime.

NCS Fluid Handling Systems designers have years of system design and experience and sizing the line is a critical step, since the amount of waste material required to be bypassed varies from time to time throughout the day the temporary system must accommodate this changing flow. Typically, the peak is calculated using flow meters and peak flow is usually early in the morning, and again in the evening when residents return home. This design calculation of peaks is crucial to the project success. If the flow is not calculated correctly and the system is undersized the pumps or piping may not be able to keep up and sewage spill may be the result, which leads to many problems for everyone.
