NCS Fluid Handling Systems utilizes advanced water treatment engineering principles to provide reliable support to our dewatering services. Our expertise in water treatment services allows us to meet the strict standards outlined by the BC Water Act regarding water quality. We use a variety of technologies and chemical treatments, such as coagulants, flocculants, disinfectants, and pH adjusters, to achieve the desired results. We also use solids separation techniques such as sedimentation and centrifugation to reduce BOD levels, COD levels and potentially oil & grease concentrations. Dewatering is essential for industrial clients that need an effective method of disposing of their wastewater while still complying with all local regulations.

At NCS Fluid Handling Systems we strive to ensure that all wastewater discharged meets or exceeds the water quality guidelines set forth by the BC Water Act with regards to heavy metals and iron by ensuring that solids are properly removed from liquids prior to discharge. This is achieved through a series of methods including chemical precipitation, ion exchange processes and membrane filtration systems. As part of our commitment towards providing safe dewatering services we understand it’s important for us to monitor water samples both before and after discharge in order for us to make sure that our processes are meeting all regulatory requirements for heavy metals and iron content.

Our dewatering services also include complete on-site operation and inspections prior to any wastewater discharge operations taking place in order for us to identify any existing contamination sources or potential sources of water constituents that may hinder release of water prior to discharge operations starting up. All industrial clients are provided with a detailed report outlining our findings so they can be confident that their waste stream does not contain any hazardous materials or pollutants before it is sent downstream into sewers or waterways regulated by BC legislation.

Many of our systems will incorporate various solutions and one of these may be Dissolved air flotation (DAF) which by itself may not achieve all desired results but is an additional treatment process that can be used to effectively enhance the quality of wastewater discharged. DAF is a physical-chemical process which enables the separation of suspended solids and emulsified oils and greases from water streams. DAF works by introducing small bubbles into the water, allowing for floating particles to form a froth on top of the DAF tank, which is then removed from the water stream. DAF also helps to eliminate odors associated with wastewater as well as assisting in the removal of heavy metals and iron from industrial wastewater streams.

The DAF system works typically by first treating the water with chemicals such as coagulants and flocculants, which are designed to cluster fine particles together so they can be more easily separated from the wastewater. The DAF system then uses pressurized air to create micron-sized bubbles which attach themselves to these clustered particles, causing them to float up to the surface where they can be skimmed off or sent off for further filtration or disposal. This improves water clarity and removes unwanted contaminants that may have been missed during pre-treatment prior to dewatering operations beginning.

At NCS Fluid Handling Systems, we use advanced DAF systems combined with our other technological applications to provide comprehensive dewatering services that meet all BC Water Act legislation regarding water discharge quality standards for heavy metals and iron. Our experienced engineers are knowledgeable in utilizing DAF systems along with pH adjusters, disinfectants, sedimentation tanks and centrifugation processes to achieve optimal results when it comes to removing pollutants from industrial waste streams prior to discharge into local waterways or sewers.

Overall, DAF can assist all other technologies mentioned above in providing a comprehensive water treatment solution that meets all BC water quality criteria while also protecting environmental resources from potential risks posed by industrial activities such as manufacturing and extraction operations that produce large amounts of wastewater on a regular basis. At NCS Fluid Handling Systems our expertise allows us to provide reliable dewatering services that adhere strictly to all local regulations pertaining to liquid waste management while still delivering high-quality results.

NCS Fluid Handling Systems is committed towards providing reliable dewatering services that conforms with all local regulations pertaining to water quality while also protecting environmental resources from unnecessary pollution risks - ultimately giving our clients peace of mind that their wastewater stream meets all criteria set forth by the British Columbia Water Act as well as all other applicable laws governing liquid waste management operations in Canada.
